about the writers...
Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk are among the most celebrated young writers in musical theatre. They have recieved the 2009 Kleban Award, 2006 Jonathan Larson Award, and a Richard Rodgers Award. Their shows have been seen off-Broadway and around the country; their songs have been heard everywhere from major New York cabaret venues to the 2009 Miss America broadcast.
about the show...
PARTY WORTH CRASHING is about youth, coming of age, and learning lessons. It’s about laughing at yourself, and figuring things out on your own. It’s about realizing that with the freedom to do anything comes the responsibility to do something. It’s about doing something… such as making your own concert.
It can be staged or at music stands. It can have a two person cast (banter encouraged) or a 20 person cast (choreography encouraged). The orchestra can be the music director at the upright piano – ok, or a keyboard – or you could have a full band. You can even choose your own set list.
That said, you are not alone in this. Kait and Brian will have lots of suggestions along the way for how to make your PARTY kick every other PARTY’s ass. You’ll also have the benefit of the VIP Lounge (the PARTY’s community forum). There, producers, directors and performers can connect with each other and directly with Kait and Brian and make each PARTY bigger and better than ever. As the community grows, you will be able to get and give so many PARTY tips that people totally want to crash yours.
