One-Day Workshop

Every song tells a story and it’s your job as an actor to convey that story through words and music. Join award-winning composer-and-lyricist team Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan (Henry and Mudge, The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown) in an intensive one-day workshop that examines the key to effective song interpretation. Together you will look at music and lyrics in a way that you’ve never seen them before. Whether it’s a pop song, a character song, or a good old fashioned standard, all the information you need for a successful performance is right there in the sheet music.

The workshop will last approximately six hours (depending on enrollment) and will be limited to a maximum of 14 people to ensure that you receive individualized attention and notes. Each workshop member will bring one song that they would like to work on, and one alternate song. Kerrigan and Lowdermilk especially encourage workshop members to bring pop songs and contemporary pieces, as this is their specialty.

In addition to song interpretation, time will be spent on vocal coaching and performance technique. There will be a one-hour meal break during the workshop.
