"In a recent master class at NYU, my students found Brian and Kait's challenging and enthusiastic feedback energizing and motivating. As writers Brian and Kait understand pop music's unique and undeniably necessary place in the contemporary musical theater."
Randy Redd (Instructor, NYU's CAP 21)

"I had no idea how difficult writing a musical was until participating in this course. Not only did I gain an appreciation for those talented enough to write a play, but I also grew as a performer through the experience. Now that I understand the thought process of writing a musical, it's easier for me as an actor to use the writer's words to better develop my character."
Lauren Thomas (Age 16)

"Just imagine teaching students to write a 10-minute musical. What a wild idea! It is exactly what Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan did at our Overnight Camp for two summers. This courageous and brilliant duo gave students the skill, framework and confidence to produce a small show in 5 days time. The students collaborated to develop an idea for their show. They wrote song lyrics, developed characters, and wrote melodies. Brian and Kait were able to guide them towards the prize but were also able to give students ownership of their accomplishments. By the time the students performed the musical for their classmates, the work was a true theatrical piece. It had a beginning, middle and end and some clever and engaging lyrics. Really great teachers push you to go to a place you didn't think you could go. Kait and Brian give their students the tools and the courage to find their creative voice. This class benefits performers as well as composers and writers. Performers learn a new respect for text and a better understanding of plot and character. Some of the students from our camp have continued their work as writers and composers. All of them rate this creative experience as one of their most rewarding."

"Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan pioneered a new class in Wingspan’s Afterschool Program at PS 40 to a great degree of success. On With The Show was an exciting class where students built a 10 minute musical from the ground up. Brian and Kait not only exhibited fantastic musical and theatrical talent, they created a safe, nurturing and enriching environment for their students. Brian and Kait worked with the students to create a successful and enchanting musical, with limited resources. Seeing how successful the program was with 3rd – 5th graders, I can only imagine what a great learning experience it will be for more advanced students! I would hire them again in a heartbeat."
